September’s Food Lovers Market to Celebrate Autumn

Malton Food Lovers Market will celebrate the glories of autumn at its next monthly event on Saturday 14th September. The Market, staged in the Milton Rooms, will have a Harvest Festival theme with free chef demonstrations carried out by craft baker Phil Clayton.

‘Bread has always been one of the symbols celebrating the safe gathering of the harvest, so we are delighted to have Phil demonstrating his skills and passion for the art of traditional bread-making,’ said Tom Naylor-Leyland, organiser of the monthly Food Lovers Markets. ‘And who can resist the smell of freshly baked bread?’

As an added incentive, those who make a bakery purchase can claim a free tea or coffee at the indoor pop-up café. Staffed entirely by Malton CIC volunteers, the café proved a great hit last month with visitors enjoying their just-bought fresh produce accompanied by a free cuppa.

Open from 9am until 3pm, the Food Lovers Market offers browsing, tasting and shopping at over 30 local producer stalls, with free entry and free parking. Together with the chef demonstrations and the pop-up café, the Milton Rooms is well worth a visit on 14th September.
