About The Festival

Malton Food Lovers Festival - Yorkshire's Finest in Yorkshire's Culinary Capital!

Malton in Yorkshire is the 'county's culinary capital' - ANTONIO CARLUCCIO

“The fifth annual Malton Food Lovers Festival was a resounding success,” say event organisers.

A party atmosphere welcomed Festival-goers as they nibbled and tasted their way around 160 stalls during the fifth annual Festival, held on 18th and 19th May 2013.

The damp start on the Saturday did not deter stall-holders or visitors and as the afternoon brightened, the crowds thronged into Malton’s town centre and some traders reported record takings.

Sunday was bright, warm and sunny and visitors flocked to the Festival, enjoying a wide variety of food and drink.

This year’s Festival included a number of ‘Festival firsts’, such as the Festival’s own radio station, trade-style wine tasting and Children’s Marquee.

Malton’s ‘pop-up’ Cookery School was nearly a sell-out venue, with the likes of Steph Moon, Andrew Pern, James Mackenzie and Antonio Carluccio tutoring eight lucky ticket-holders to a cookery lesson, watched by an enthralled audience. The Festival's tempting Taste Trail was also a great success.

The Talbot Hotel Marquee played host to celebrity interviews carried out by Festival President Selina Scott, while the trade-style wine tasting had over one hundred wines waiting to be enjoyed!

The Beer Festival and the Charity Gala Dinner were firm favourites, while the chef’s demonstrations in the Milton Rooms were again a star attraction.

We would like to thank everyone that attended, all the stall holders, the chefs, the guests, the residents and business-owners in Malton, and of course the many volunteers who helped make this year’s event such a success.
